Slush Creek Walkers would like
to thank you for taking the time to visit our site, we appreciate the time you
spend here with us. SCW is a working cattle ranch located on the rolling plains
of North East Montana. We are only 6 miles from the North Dakota border right on
US Highway 2. We raise Tennessee Walking Horses, beef cattle, feed grains, hay,
and KIDS! We have 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls), 4 grandchildren (2 boys and 2
girls), and "Shellie's Strays". If it needs TLC or nursing it fits into the
latter category and it doesn't matter if it human or animal. We are very proud
of our breeding program and the horses we raise. Our goal is to provide good
quality using horses.
First and most important is
the natural gait, we don't use any mechanical/chemical "aids" to get our
horses to do a running walk. They do it au' naturel from the time they are
born.
We also place a lot of emphasis
on disposition. They must be calm, sane, and gentle to meet our requirements.
We want to make sure that our
buyers are happy and satisfied. We believe that purchasing a horse is a
"long term investment" and we want the next 20 years you spend with your
Slush Creek Walking Horse to be the BEST 20 years!
SCW does offer a payment plan,
with a deposit and a contract. Just ask about it and we will work out
something that will fit your budget.
We do accept Pay Pal for your
convenience!
We will gladly
provide you with references so please feel free to ask for them. SCW's is
expecting 10 foals the
spring of 2008. We imprint train our foals, they are trained to halter, load
into a trailer, then they just get to run around being a horse for awhile. If
there is something special you are looking for, let us know. If we don't have it
maybe we can point you in the right direction or better yet Mother Nature will
give us a "made to order"! There is a link for our email on the bottom of each
page. If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we will do our best
to answer them. If you are ever in our neck of the woods, stop in for coffee and
we will talk horses. Please take a moment to send us an email, we
would really love to hear from you!

PRE-PURCHASE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Many people ask us about
what to look for when purchasing a horse. We have put together a list of
things we feel are important.
1. Have pre-purchase
examination of ANY horse you are considering. A pre-purchase exam is
entirely different from a veterinary exam.
2. Realize your
limitations. If you are a beginning rider then you will want a beginners
horse.
3. Ask questions. If
you don't know something, ask questions. Many people do not want to ask
questions they are afraid it will make them appear ignorant. This is NOT
the case, the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask!
