NOTICE
If you see a login page rather than the new password page when you first try to
access the modem, please disregard this step and go to step 2. (Logging into Netopia)

Setup
To begin programming the Netopia 2241N you need to enter expert mode. To
do this, you need to click the "Expert Mode" link on the left menu.
After clicking the expert mode link, the browser will take you to a
confirmation page asking if you are sure you will like to enter this working
mode. Please click the "OK" button to enter expert mode.
From this point, you will need to click on the "Configure" button on
top menu bar so we can enter the configuration mode.
In the configuration menu, the next step would be to click on the
"WAN" link.
Within the WAN configuration page, you need to click on the "ATM"
link.
Now the actual programming process begins. To start make the following
changes to VPI and VCI:
VPI: 0
VCI: 35
Once those changes have been made, you will need to change the
encapsulation type dropdown to "RFC-1483 Bridged Ethernet".
Next, verify that multiplexing is set to "LLC/SNAP" and also
change PPPoE Sessions to "0" (Zero).
After the following changes have been made, click the "Submit" button.
Once the information has been submitted, the next step of the programming
process would be to click on the "WAN" link on the left menu again.
From within the WAN menu, you will need to click the "RFC-1483 Bridged
Ethernet vcc1" link, which will take you into the page to enter your
static IP addresses.
Now that you are in the interface programming page, the first thing to do
is UNCHECK "Obtain IP Address Automatically". After un-checking that
checkbox, you will see some new input boxes appear.
Enter the following information into the two input boxes:
IP Address
( IP ASSIGNED BY NEMONT )
IP Netmask
( SUBNET ASSIGNED BY NEMONT )
Also make sure that you change restrictions dropdown to "NONE".
Once finished making the above changes, you will need to click the "Submit"
button to save them to the Netopia's temporary memory.
After submitting the changes, click on the "WAN" link on the left hand
side again.
Within the WAN configuration page, you will need to place a check in the
"Enable Gateway Option" checkbox. After checking this box, two
more items should drop below it.
Verify that the interface type is set to "IP Address" and then
enter the following for Default Gateway:
Default Gateway
( GATEWAY ASSIGNED BY NEMONT )
Once the data has been entered into the WAN configuration page, click
the "Submit" button once again to save the changes into the modem's
temporary memory.

Saving Configuration
Now that you are all done configuring your Netopia to get on the Internet,
you need to save the changes to the internal memory so if you were to
powercycle, your settings will not be lost. To begin saving the new
settings, click the yellow triangle button on the right side of the setup
window.
Once in the validation/save configuration window, you will need to click on
the "Save and Restart" link to save the settings to the modem, and
then reboot the modem with the new settings in place.
After clicking on link, the modem will reboot. Wait for it to power back
up completely and then at that point, try to access the Internet.
If you were to click the "Save" link only, the modem would save the new
settings to its internal memory, but would not activate the changes until
after a modem reboot. This is why you need to click the "Save and Restart"
link.
Congratulations! You are now done configuring your Netopia 2241N Single
Port ADSL modem.
