Setting Up the PC
Before you can get into your new Speedstream 5861 single port modem, you
will need to have the computer's ethernet interface to be set up for DHCP,
**OR** you will have to set up a static IP address.
Use the following address information if setting up a static IP in the
computer's ethernet interface:
IP ADDRESS: 192.168.254.10
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.254.254
PRIMARY DNS: 216.129.224.1
SECONDARY DNS: 216.220.0.1

Logging Into, Modifying and Saving the Configuration
- Open your web browser and type in the following address in
the location bar: http://192.168.254.254 (or whatever you
may have changed the default IP address to) and press enter.
- Type in the username and the password for your router.
The default username is: admin
The default password is: admin
Click OK.
- Click on the "Easy Setup" link on the upper left corner of
the browser window.
- "WAN Interface" should be 0 and 35 (default).
- "WAN Protocol" should be set to RFC 1483 MAC Encapsulated Routing
(MER)
- Click "Next"
- Click "IP Routing Enabled"
- Click "Configure IP Routing manually"
- Type in the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway from your ADSL
information package.
- Click on NAT enabled unless you specifically do not want it enabled.
- Click "Next"
- Check "DHCP server enabled on LAN"
- Check "Configure DNS manually"
- Change "Domain Name" to nemont.net
- Change "Primary DNS Server" to 216.129.224.1
- Change "Secondary DNS Server" to 216.220.0.1
- Leave the "Primary WINS Server" and "Secondary WINS Server" unchecked.
- Click "Next"
- The default LAN IP configuration should be correct. Click the "Save and
Reboot" button to continue.
Congratulations! You are now done configuring your Speedstream 5861 Single
Port ADSL modem.
