Are You an Imitator or a Creator?
|
In Genesis 1:26 "Then
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our
likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the
birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every
creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Image means: 6754 selem (seh’-lem)- " a copy or counterpart." the Lord is saying that he created us to be a copy of Him, not as God, but to have His moral nature, His character, His heart.Likeness means: 1823 d `emuwts (dem-ooth)-In Gen. it says that we are created in God's image, right? Gen. 1:26 "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."You put this back together you get " Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our moral nature and Our character, according to the way We function (they will function just like Us)....Function is a product of design, this is where our problem is; we are designed by God to function just like Him and to have His character and moral nature. This is what generations of religion influences and what satan has polluted. We were designed to put God’s Word stuff in us; that cooperates with our design. Doubt, frustrations and ignorance to our design makes us malfunction. It's a matter of putting in the right stuff that God has designed for us, rather than the stuff we want or feel trapped in. We are visionaries, Word dreamers, and creators by design. We can see this in God, our Father, but not...in US! In Eph. 5:1(NJK) scripture says, " Therefore be imitators of God as dear children." In the King James Version it says "Be ye therefore followers of God as dear children. In the Greek the word "imitators" and "followers" is: #3402 Strong's-"mimites" this is where we get our English word "mimic". It means to mimic or imitate God.This is the problem; we look at ourselves and see us for what we've become, rather than looking at ourselves through the eyes of what God has created in us and is still working on in us (Phil. 1:6). We also see ourselves through the eyes of what we’ve been taught by through religion. Religion usually tells us that we are no good worms, that have to slither up to the throne or that we are going to have to just make it through this life. We need to see like God; He sees us as what He is molding us and making into. We, on the other hand look at our problem, trials and handicaps. The one that walks in Gods creative Spirit will see God’s plan on what to do, in order to walk in victory daily. The man, who looks, will always look on the problem, and the problems of life will pounce on him and will consume him. The one who sees will look at the same situation through the eyes of faith in God’s creative Word and His life and create an answer. This answer will always sow good fruit that remains.
