Fulfilling God’s Principles of Giving and Receiving

You see the laws and principles that He set down before the foundation of the world run God’s kingdom. He has placed them into His Word. He has bound even Himself to these laws and principles. “I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name For Your loving kindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name”. (Psalms 138:2) Many teach that God in His sovereignty does what ever He wants. This scripture says He has placed His Word above all of His name. He made a covenant with us. (a teaching I’ll do later) He has recorded this covenant in His Word (the Bible). You may be asking what are God’s principles on giving and receiving?

Love – Love the Lord your God with all your heart…(Matt. 22:37) and Faith works by love. (Gal. 5:6)

a. We are to create an atmosphere in our house, job and our church, of peace and love. This is a difficult challenge for us many times. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be ask of, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace”. (James 3:16-18)

2. Faith - Study scripture, not only on prosperity, but all of the principles of God’s Word. Learn God’s principles. Let the Holy Spirit be your teacher of it. “But the anointing (the Holy Spirit) which you have received from Him, abides (lives) in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him”. (1 John 2:27) Is God promoting you not to go to church? No, He is saying ”So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”. (Romans 10:17)

3. Tithe – Exodus 23:16 "the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labors which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field”. This is saying to us, if we want a harvest give the first of what you bring to your house as income. What is income? It is simple finances that “COME IN” your home. I’d like to share with you some things that will effect the honoring of God in your tithe. God wasn’t displeased with Cains offering, but his attitude of his giving the first fruits. (Gen. 4:3-7)

a. Attitude: This word and its action kill more blessing than just about anything. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks”. (Luke 6:45) Meaning that if you have In 2 Cor 9:7 “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”

b. Stewardship: "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” (Matt. 25: 23)

c. Diligence: The Websters Dictionary says this about diligence:”the attention and care legally expected or required of a person (as a party to a contract)” You may ask what does this have to do with you? You are in a covenant paid for by the blood of jesus Christ. You and Jesus have a contract, signed in His blood, He desires for you to fulfill it. Your part is to fulfill God’s Word principles so He can fulfill His Word in your life.

What I am saying is when you really love God, neither your flesh, nor satan will be able to talk you out of laying down your tithe or seed, EXPECTING a harvest! Knowing that scripture says in Is. 55:11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

4. A willing mind 2 Cor 8:12 “If you are really eager to give, then it isn’t important how
much you have to give. God wants you to give what you have, not what you haven’t
.” To
often we look at our bills or how much we have, then excuse it away with a couple of old
carnal excuses like “God will forgive me” or “God will understand that I need to do this” or
the old favorite “God wouldn’t honor it anyway if I don’t pay my bills” Remember what Matt
6:32b-33 said “
For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek
first the kingdom of God (His way of doing things, His business) and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you
.”

We see first that our heavenly Father knows we have need of “things”, right! Then we see He says for us to seek to do His business. Then He does our business. You see we must fulfill the law of the first fruits (before anything give God His 10%). Some will ask about gross or net, well what is FIRSTfruits, The first part. You have to look at your check and see how much was it before you employer took out taxes, etc. From that amount figure out your tithe. If you even take 10% later from it, it’s actually not tithe it’s a tip. You see the firstfruit was meant to redeem the rest of your finances. It puts God’s hand on your money.

5. Give seed (offerings)The Word of God says in Luke 6:38 that when we give, we can expect to receive "…good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over…." By sowing a financial seed into a ministry, you are not only blessed to be a blessing, but you are blessed as well (Genesis 12:3). Give and it shall be given back to you. .” Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." (Luke 6:38).

6. Believe to receive - God rewards them that diligently seek Him. (Heb.11:6) Hold onto your

profession of faith. (Heb. 4:14) In Hebrews 6:12b it says, “imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises”. Because God says “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it”. Is. 55:11. Also in Gal. 6:9 it says “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”. God wants to bless you more than you want to be blessed. If you will fulfill His Word, abundance will begin flowing forth from the throne of God. You must understand that even satan will not violate God’s laws and Principles; he deceives you into violating them! And when it comes to finances we are easy to deceive, unless you are in faith about God’s principles concerning finances.

Remember God wants to bless us so He can:

1. Fulfill His covenant (Deut. 8:18) and

2. So we can have enough finances to meet our own need, but enough to joyfully meet the needs of others. The Living Bible in 2 Cor. 9:8 puts it like this, “ God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more, so there will not only be enough for your own needs, but plenty left over to give joyfully to others. “

3. Fulfill what Jesus paid for it. In2 Cor 8:9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

We need to get to a point where we must ask ourselves, "do we really believe what the Bible says?" If we do believe the Bible and we are doing what it says, then why are we not seeing His benefits? I am coming to a place where I believe that many times we grow weary in believing for that thing or we don’t hold fast to our profession or we get forgetful. So because we don't keep our list of the Harvests that we are believing for in front of us believing, we many times don't receive. We need to follow God’s instruction in Is Word, like “hold fast to your profession of faith”, “don't grow weary in well doing” and “forget not His benefits” There are many principles, but looking at Matt. 6:32b-33 it says, “For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God (His way of doing things, His business) and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” We see first, that our heavenly Father knows we have need of “things”, right! Second, we see He says for us to seek to do His business.

Thirdly, He does our business. This is seedtime and harvest. You seed by doing His business, He then gives you a harvest by doing yours. Like fulfilling your needs to the point where you can joyfully meet the needs of others. (2 Cor.9:8) Your heavenly Father desires to get you out of debt, and bring a state of wholeness to you and your family . But you need to fulfill His principles by doing His business. If you have tithed, then laid down seed and you say it is for getting you debt free (or whatever), don’t change your confession. Keep believing; keep confessing prosperity scriptures over your seed! If you don’t believe for your seed to produce a harvest, then satan will go after it. the enemy is a devourer, right? One of the main things satan steals is seed, so he can stop your harvest. God’s design is to give you a harvest in proportion to your seed. The yield is dependant on you “holding fast to your profession of faith”, “not growing weary in well doing” and “not forgetting His benefits
